Old Guitar Series: Elison Jackson

Elison Jackson – “Tongue On Fire”

Elison Jackson is a garage-folk band based out of New Haven, CT. Sam Perduta leads the group and contacted idleWilde Creations after seeing his friends, Hanging Hills, play The Old Guitar. Perduta knew of the perfect place to shoot an episode, a library, the oldest library in Connecticut at that. The Institute Library of New Haven was founded in 1826. Their website states this: “the library provides its members with… rich opportunities to engage with each other and the surrounding neighborhoods of downtown New Haven.” The historical purpose of that library rings true for the mission of The Old Guitar. The project allows people to meet and share meaningful snippets of life. The Old Guitar is a network of original musicians that has no end in sight.

In a review of Elison Jackson’s album “Do Not Fear To Kill A Dead Man” CT Indie describes “Tongue On Fire” as so, “This is a nice take on traditional songs by fusing old and new ideas with classic instrumentation. Sam’s occasional vocal cracks bring so much life to the melody.”

Elison Jackson is also a nominee for Best in State: Connecticut by New England Music Awards. You can vote for them (before January 31st !) here:   http://www.nemusicawards.com/nominees
