Residents of Daggett Street Artist Lofts in New Haven have recently been reporting that they are being forced to relocate, with no notice at all. The news affects about a hundred local artists, as well as the several dozen people staying on couches. It affects the Local Music Scene, as fewer underground shows will have a location to take place. As legend has it, the building was once utilized as the storage facility for circus entrepreneur P.T. Barnum of Bridgeport. It had been a center for New Haven underground music and culture for well over 3 decades, and was one of the last of such locations in the general area.
